fiction-wise, I really enjoyed getting back into Megan Whalen Turner's The Queen's Thief series.

top 2, easily, were both nonfiction:
• One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This feels like an obvious one to say after its accolades, but I agree it deserves them (read it in one sitting)
• A People's History of the American Public Library was a lot of fun

last books of 2025:
• The Good Enough Job: Reclaiming Life from Work, Simone Stolzoff
• A Drop of Corruption, Robert Jackson Bennet 🎧📚
• Consider the Fork: A History of How We Cook and Eat, Bee Wilson
• Hothouse, Boris Kachka

(the Kachka subtitle is too long to fit in this post)

to make non-ai searches the default, here's what I did:
Settings > search
Click the "+" icon at the bottom of the search engine editor
Type "udm14" in the "Name" field
In the URL field, paste in Google's udm14 search link
Scroll down in the Search Engine Editor panel
Click "Set as Default Search"
