Aiden - Red Spider Lilies & Rose of Jericho
Dust - Sunflowers & Yellow Coreopsis

Their flowers appeared in my most recent illustrations of them too 🥰
Here is an explanation of why I picked those:
Aiden - Rose of Jericho and Red Spider Lilies: Rose of Jericho is a desert plant that is also known as "resurrection plant". It can survive extreme heat and drought. It curls up and goes brown, but it can revive and turn green again when rehydrated. This makes it a symbol for resilience and rebirth. This fits perfectly for Aiden because he managed to get back on his feet after his life went to complete shit, and he lost family, status, and was left emotionally and physically scarred. Despite no longer being his old self, he was "rehydrated" by new people and friends he made, who helped him come to peace with his situation. Red spider lilies, because they're red and that's his color. They also symbolize death and farewells, which is unfortunately a very prevalent part of his life. But they can also symbolize rebirth and the passage of time, which emphasizes his healing process, too.,, Dust - Sunflowers and Yellow Coreopsis: Bright yellow! They are the epitome of cheerfulness, positivity, optimism, and joy. Very fitting for an upbeat personality such as Dust. She is very optimistic and can always be seen with a smile on her lips - even if she doesn't feel like it, she puts on a smile. Coreopsis flowers also have a very long bloom during the summer months. It fits for Dust because she always makes her best effort to be kind to others and cheer them up.

Process for the quoted illustration 🎨 1) Sketch 2) Lineart 3) Flats and rough lighting concept (I changed my mind on the lighting a bit later) 4) Added Red Spider Lilies to the background and colored the circle in the background a bit red. Also started rendering of the skin. 5) Even more rendering... 6) Hair rendering + Changed background and turned spider lilies white and translucent, and made the ring more "cyberpunk" looking. 7) Finishing touches with an overlay layer, gradient maps, and effects

Aiden's face on his initial reference sheet on the left and current one on the right. Neither is how I initially envisioned him. He looks so cute and his face is too short/not angular enough My most recent illustrations of him. Left is a WIP 👀 and right is the suits collab pic from earlier this month. Notice how his jaw is more prominent and his face longer while having narrower eyes and thicker brows that are more furrowed.

It was mostly boredom during the pandemic that gave me the idea, and I wanted to be able to draw emotes for my Twitch (because I streamed back then). I had commissioned some prior.

So I just sat down, doodled, and found my creative spark again.

One of my first full non-chibi drawings (mid 2021-ish?). This was inspired by Genshin Impact - the background is an in game screenshot A friend's OC (early 2022) Late 2021. An illustration I made for Zhongli from Genshin. The facial proportions and expression are killing me here now 😆
