In the entire trans discourse, a lot of ppl seem to gloss over the fact that a lot of cis gender identities are built on patriarchal ideas. To put it crudely: patriarchy and bioessentialism is the gender “ideology”/identity of a lot of cis ppl.
Whether or not you were socialised as a woman or man, we’re all socialised by patriarchy, and that’s still problematic (whether it was benevolent patriarchy or not).
Egalitarian folks all have to work on unpacking and decoupling our gender identities from patriarchy, whether you’re cis or trans.
