On this day, we remember the martyrdom of St. Valentine, a priest who defied imperial orders to minister to persecuted Christians and perform forbidden marriages. Arrested and sentenced to death, he remained steadfast in faith, reportedly healing his jailer’s blind daughter before his execution.

I was raised an #Orthodox but left the #faith for a time. Life took me through adversity—trauma, a difficult relationship, and eventually becoming a parent. In the midst of it all, I found my way back to Orthodoxy.

Faith isn’t a straight path, but rather something we rediscover through hardship.

Prayer isn’t just about asking for things—it’s about grounding yourself in God’s presence. An altar creates a sacred space for that daily connection, a reminder that Christ is at the center of our lives. In a noisy world, we need those quiet moments of prayer more than ever. #OrthodoxChristianity
