Just musing about things. And missing all the typos.
Could be many tombstones in the cemetery that read: “I didn’t realize sepsis happens so quickly”. I’m glad mine is not one of them. #sepsis #sepsiskills Thank you EMS

I bought an air fryer oven. My dog is terrified by it! Shakes uncontrollably.

Rainy Day. Life finds a way, even atop the remnants of the FEMA dumpsite. A weed is just a flower where it isn’t supposed to be. #EganPark #StPeteBeach #BeautyEverywhere

In the supermarket, tired, hungry & cold. I think: there’s a poem here about the crazy old lady in the produce aisle talking to herself. Did anybody hear me? 😂

I tried to make a version of a French 75 with indigo gin (delicious) and this weird blue Prosecco. I thought I’d call it Sacre Bleu but it ended up looking more like the Intracoastal post hurricane. I guess it could be called The Helene Aftermath

After 203 days with his foster family, sweet lovable Griff went to his forever home. Grumpy Buddy has been wandering the house looking for him. We miss you Griff, aka The Grifster, Griffinator, Griffer, White Dog, Griffey, and Ken.

The end of a great day. I love when the sunset makes the bay (looking east) light up.

I fail every day. New Year Resolutions are 💩. Do better; be better on the daily!

10 years ago I met friends for lunch here while traveling further south. I fell in love with this beach and moved to area. It was getting too dark to take my usual New Year Day beach walk because the beach is still filled with debris, but I walked half of it. Still have no words for the destruction.

The FEMA dump pile by my house is gone!!!! It’s not “Goodbye Helene!” but each day is progress! Hopefully the City restores the park soon because you still can’t walk through the field as there’s debris embedded in the soil but greener spaces ahead! 🙂

Today is the 2nd anniversary of my mother’s death. Tomorrow would be my father’s 98th birthday. Here they are laughing, following weeks of family sorrow and grief that my 9yr old self remembers well. I can hear them laughing. I miss those smiles. My son now is nearly as old as my mother was then.

Maybe my favorite time of day. But today, I wish it was occurring later.

Some days I feel like that.

I didn’t think my little beach town would put up holiday decorations this year because they’re busy putting up street lights and street signs and clearing debris. But seeing the decorations that I usually see as so tired made me happy. Meanwhile…I put up lights too…

OED Word of the year is “Brain Rot”. “Slop”was a contender.

This poem, I can assure you, is not slop, though it was written before coffee.

Holy Spectacular Sunset, Batman! Look what I glimpsed when I took out the trash. I almost missed this. I should have walked to beach at sunset!

I found this on my bookshelf this evening. I forgot I owned this. I found this in a used bookshop in Hay-on-Wye, Wales in 2006. Found while I wandered around waiting for a tow truck. There could be worse places on the planet to have a broken down vehicle than a Welsh town full of used bookstores.

#whatISawToday Thanksgiving walk. My first walk to Sunset Beach since the storms. It’s difficult to believe that it’s been two months. More difficult to understand how big a mess everything still is. Still, there is beauty and wonder all around.
