Having worked with both, I wouldn’t say one is more difficult than the other. It’s a different mindset. Changing between the mindsets though, that’s very difficult.

One of my favorite sci-fi series Skyward by Brandon Sanderson has space combat ships with grappling “light lances”. Makes tactical fights really fun.

gdscript vs C#
If you are looking for game development as a hobby, gdscript is easier and a faster path. But if you aim for a software engineer profession, (either in game development or not) then C# is a better choice, it forces you to use better programming concepts and architecture

That said, C# is much easier to learn and master. C++ has lots of hidden “gotchas”. Between the two, I strongly recommend to start learning with C#, then expand into C++ when you feel comfortable

From my 30yrs experience in programming (and 20 in game development) - once you learn a programming language, you automatically know 80% of any other programming language.
