I will ask! I’m fairly sure one of them does though, given his normal human trash-can eating habits…

Imagine my surprise when reading this post and seeing a gif of one of my friends shaking hands with another one of my friends.

He was a guest on the Football Clichés pod a few years ago. You’re asked to choose three fascinations/loves about football. His three fascinations essentially amounted to ‘going to the football’, ‘playing football’, and ‘the general concept of football’. Excruciating lack of patter.

As someone who works for an animal rescue charity, I completely agree lol

Easy to forget that only one episode of the US Office (the pilot) was actually a remake of the UK office. Everything else was completely original. The second episode was probably one of the best they ever made.

I just remembered this one I took there seven years ago now. We’re so lucky to have this on our doorstep.

Holly crap! Is this at Ashton Court or in the wild somewhere?

I’m still tickled when I remember that Idris Elba got his big breaks on TV with two appearances in The Bill followed by helping to launch Channel 5 with a regular part in Family Affairs.

I get so much joy from mining the IMDB of every British actor currently working in America to find out which of Casualty, The Bill, or Doctors they have one single appearance in from the late 90s/early 00s

Discharge lounge also bringing to mind a section of the hospital that’s altogether even more unpleasant.

The BBC’s reporting on Rashford at Barcelona included the below. What constitutes a saga and can you have a series of them over a fortnight period? In my mind it can only refer to a long running transfer story or controversy, and not something that takes place over a couple of weeks. Thoughts?

Just thought I’d let you know that I was looking for a game to play recently and thought to myself, “I bet Stephen Bush has got some good recommendations”, so I searched your profile for the keyword ‘Steam’ and found this post. Thank you - best game I’ve played in ages.

I don’t think it was specifically related to dad’s job, they just wanted their kids to be educated privately (with the remaining costs footed by a well off relative). I remember getting bullied for talking posh at primary school and then again for talking common at secondary school.

My clergy father was sent to one of the most deprived neighbourhoods in the country, and had no money, but I still got sent to private school on a scholarship, so was simultaneously both the posh vicar’s son and the poor kid from the council estate, depending on who you asked.

If I was taking a penalty against Jordan Pickford, I would simply send him the wrong way.

I’ve found it fine for electronics etc. but wouldn’t necessarily trust it for running shoes (especially popular models) because of the risk of fakes. You might get lucky though and if they’re cheap enough you’ve got nothing to lose.

Doesn’t every cinema in the UK enforce seat booking already? I haven’t been anywhere in the last 10 years where you can just walk in and sit anywhere.

Not sure - I rewatched both recently and found myself longing for the pacing of DS9. So much of BSG seems to be all plot, all action, all grimness, all of the time. For me, DS9 had the perfect mix of seriousness and fun. Just so much more time to breathe and explore characters.

Deep Space Nine much better than BSG, despite loving BSG and most of Ron Moore’s other work, primarily because there wasn’t anywhere near as much of a drop in quality over seven series, plus it’s just a lot more fun.
