Eventually Meta would be passive aggressive about how empty my notifications were and would start suggesting new people or groups to follow. After telling it to ignore all of its recommendations, it seems to have just stopped even bothering. I'm surprised when I get a new notification these days.

Over the course of a year and a half, I would immediately tell Facebook to never show me notifications from a person or group. After it was all said and done I would get less than 5 notifications a day, with more than half being from the few people I wanted notifications from.
