We had an insightful discussion,& while we ideated on possibilities, it was difficult to predict how things would pan out over the next many months.This ended up being the first of the deluge then of discussions and panels, most of which of course shifted online (Zoomitis was a parallel phenomenon)

Foreign organizations doing NIH funded research have been struggling for years to manage administrative costs, personnel, infrastructure & related costs in global health because they were only allowed 8% when on the same grant a US collaborator institution could charge much more, and were doing so!

Major meltdown in US universities and academics as NIH administrative overhead max rates ↓ to 15% (from up to 69% earlier). Expect legal challenges to be mounted
However, where was all this alarm & concern for foreign NIH grantees/sub-grantees for whom rates always capped at a relatively paltry 8%
