People are rightfully making good jokes about this but in all seriousness: Singapore is a tiny country and fresh water is extremely hard to come by so they’ve developed incredibly innovative technologies that recycle wastewater into potable water that meets 40% of the country’s water demand.
The Singaporeans are giving out free beer made from recycled toilet water at the COP29 climate summit. “At first their eyes widen,” one of the leaders of Singapore’s youth delegation said. “Then we reassure them. They’re usually coming back the next day for another.”
