Kudos to the lighting design at the Post Animal show last week at Majestic in Madison, WI.

Guy on the boards said he was learning the ropes.

Looked like the northern lights a few weeks back.
A crowd takes in the band post animal at the Majestic Theatre in Madison Wisconsin last week. The lighting is soft, rich, purples, and pinks. Two band members play guitar and sing under purple and green spotlights reminiscent of the recent aurora borealis events on planet earth. The lead singer and keyboardist are bathed in the light comparable to a green lantern summit on OA. Long exposure of the lead singer pumping his fist while the guitarist sings in plays. The crowd pulls out their phones to snap photos and record video.

Here’s what Vincent and I painted in the garage with the color palette.

I was also listening to Pearl Jam Ten, which coincidentally was the first CD I ever bought as a teen teenager… so there may be some lyrical Easter eggs in there as well.

In the photo is a variety of leaves and flowers in varying states of color change and decay. The leaves are arranged in a circle. Green leaves to yellow to red to orange to brown. In the center of the photo are dying seed pods, yellow, and purple, flowers, and sprigs of thyme A circle of spray paint cans have been arranged around the circle of leaves and flowers that correspond to color. Greens and glow in the dark greens to yellow to orange to red to brown back to green. This is going to be my fall color palette for my next exhibit.

The healthcare systems in my area the last 12 years focused on making hospitals look/feel like Apple Stores.

People are more important than glass/wood/metal facilities and half assed tech stacks from price gouging third party vendors.

Madison was pretty tonight.

In the entrance into the exhibit, there are three closed ceramic vessels. One in the fore ground (in a range of earth tones) and two in the back (one with pollack-esque splatters of red and black the other in whites and black. A portrait of the artist and three ceramic plates serve as a back drop for these incredible pieces. They are nestled together on an earth toned shag carpet of fibers. A tall ceramic closed vessel stands tall on a platform of stark white. Brown glaze on the bottom of the piece fade into deep midnight blues . Light, yellow and green underglazes create the illusion of Aurora borealis . The top of the piece is glazed with the brightest bluest lapis lazuli toned glaze. It looks like an otherworldly Easter egg. This is a close-up of a glaze detail of a stunning red ceramic bowl hung on the wall. The interaction between the Reds and the dark purples in the underglaze reminiscent of a Hubble telescope photograph of a distant galaxy being born. This is a black-and-white photograph of a Zen garden with large ceramic spheres placed throughout. In the photo, we see one particular sphere that is cracking under its own weight. The blacks underneath the large cracking piece provide a star contrast of the almost white eggshell quality of the ceramic . In the background to visitors, take in the peace with awe. Another weaving with a circular motif hangs in the distant wall.
