We have seen again and again that he will block overwhelmingly popular, bipartisan legislation rather than risk angering Trump.

So “just trust us, we’ll deal with it later” is not a serious plan.

Even if an extension of the ACA credits were to get 60 votes in the Senate, there is no guarantee whatsoever that Mike Johnson will allow a vote on that language in the House.

The Speaker alone controls what comes to the floor.
