Some of the fights were among the best in the series too! Bahamut for example

But then the fight against big Titan especially was so much style over substance and so slow moving.

Problem is you can't know that ahead of time right?

You only can know something is a pace killer once it's killed the pace

Yeah it's been a while but that was definitely one of the biggest pace killers for me too

That's awesome! They are all worth playing at least once for sure. I'm glad you were able to start going through them after FF16 despite how different it is

Same! They don't have to be perfect games for me to enjoy them.

Otherwise I would never play FF2 again lol

16 did lots of things right, and at its best was super fun and engaging.

It also did lots of things wrong, and at its worst was slow and boring.

Fits right in with most of the FF series to me!

The music is good, yes. That dungeon very much is not, and the fight itself is nothing special.

And, on the GBA, that fight didn't even get the Battle on the Big Bridge remix. It had the Kraken/Lich boss fight theme. So yes it's trash content that got slightly better the second time

Soul of Rebirth is definitely the best of the extra GBA content for sure, it definitely stands out

Most all of the bonus dungeons, fir the FF PR's at least, are completely trash content.

The PR's are the best looking and sounding versions of the old games. That's what a remaster should be
