Is it even legal to have time for something other than your early stage startup??

One more month until we find out what YC thinks of us 🥹 Even if we don't get in it's still such a good evaluation of our skills! Can't wait to see the answer🤞 and still buzzing about this unplanned decision 🤪

Yesterday, 2 days before the deadline, we suddenly realized that we HAVE to apply to @ycombinator.com.web.brid.gy 😳 We didn’t mean to apply for the W25 BUT this sudden thought was “why not now??”. And we applied! 🥹 Even if chances are low, I am so excited we did it!!!

When you try to design the page yourself for so long and then suddenly realize "why don't I just go and look at some references, some designers sure did this in a good way". But then the disappointment comes because they didn't...

Dived deeper into coding stuff lately 👩🏽‍💻 Is it really possible to push a startup from the ground with a whole product already built? I know it’s not how the cool founders do it, but it’s the only way we can build something. Decided to trust the process - let’s see how it goes 🥴

Since both of us (founders) are technical, I decided to do the CEO stuff 👩🏼‍💻 But at such an early stage, after a few days I realized there wasn't much to do, so I went back to coding. I really wonder what completely non-technical co-founders do? 😬

I am impressed by how easy it is to build a startup today. If you're a builder, you have all the tools you need and almost every one of them has a free pan for you to start 🚀 It's literally the best time to build a startup 💪🏼

When you're a first-time founder, it's so hard to see if it's a "tar pit idea" 💡 you just want this thing to exist! It took us 6 months to realize that we are definitely going to stack in this, but I think it's not a bad lesson 🤔

Right after our "friends and family" launch, when it was time to commit to working on this project for the next 10 years, we realized we just couldn't. These things happen, but no regrets! Lesson learned, we pivoted 🚀

We’ve made our first launch to our friends and family and now it finally feels real 🥹

Ahh I hate how every time before release a bunch of magical bugs appear. If I wasn't a developer myself with a lot of experience with this, I would really question my dev's abilities 😂

“Every business, yours included, is up to something big in the world and you need to be bold enough to share it. It takes courage to stop shouting about your products and to start talking about your big ideas, but it's worth it.” - Daniel Priestley

I have just learned the thing that when you need to talk to potential customers, you can’t hack the process and share a survey or some questions in the group chats or channels, you have to pick every person and talk directly to him.

The “16 personality” test showed me that I am 60% extravert but nothing is compared with the moment when you have to send a message to 3k members chat that you are a startup founder and need some help with the research, trying to convince them to answer on a few questions😭

Being an aspiring startup founder expectations vs reality:
Expectations: Yeey, now I will create my product and everyone will want to use it!
Reality: So I should forget about the code and talk to potential users because my problem might not be a problem??🫠

The first stage of a startup is actually the least exciting for me 🫣 It’s when you have the idea and you are so ready to make it a reality but turns out there are so many things to do before doing an actual “product”.

The first thing that I’ve faced in my outreach journey is that nobody actually likes surveys 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄🙃

I’ve always been very anxious about networking, because my impostor syndrome told me that I have no expertise in something. Turns out that you don't understand your expertise until you talk to people. And that's a lot of fun, by the way!🥳
