In a snowless climate
like Southern California,
neighbors do what they can
to help each other
feel the Christmas spirit,
lighting up their homes as a gift.
Nothing fancy on my block, just
the cheer that folks can manage:
“Here,
here's a little Christmas for you.”

It’s enough.
It’s plenty.
