You can often tell which films the MST3K folks had fun with versus ones they thought were boring/weird and this is in the “fun” category. They even say in the MST3K book that they thought this was “pretty good.”

Kudus to Mamdani for understanding that Trump’s desire for views/attention outweighs any ideological objection he has to Mamdani.

You had to have an incredible beauty because what sensible guy would be tempted away from Julie Andrews? Still a stretch as it is.

For a fairly bland character (except for his MCU version who seems like a totally different person), Bed Leeds has a pretty wild history.

She didn’t just disappear - her character died in a plane crash in the last season!

Hard to top the NYT profile on 831 for eye-rolling content but this piece rivals it!

Sometimes when I’m volunteering at a food bank and I’m tempted to take some extra food home with me I remember, “We’re not doing this because we’re greedy, the Bears are doing this to feed the needy” and leave it alone.

The most ridiculous thing is that the Amazon and Goodreads reviews for most recent Harlequin books are better (often a lot better) than the reviews for these 831 books. All that style and promotion and they couldn’t even come up with solid books.

I wish there was a scene with the real grandma filming at the end where she proclaims her hatred for basketball and demands the AI incorporate that.

I still think of Jennifer Aniston as the daughter of the actor who played Victor on Days of Our Lives (R.I.P. John Aniston)

That low household income stat has to be amended with the fact that it’s the fifth most affordable state in the country.

It’s a real issue but paying politicians (especially in Congress and the Senate) is very unpopular all around. A lot of people hate the idea of politicians earning much more than they do and then wonder why these jobs attract big business people and trust fund babies.

These results are exciting and have potential but they are still generally for blue states (even VA has been trending blue). The real test will be next year when almost every state is having big elections

People chose him at his last year of sexiness.

This is pretty surprising - I always saw a ton of people around that restaurant, especially with Halloween. It seemed so popular!

There never seems to be any rich people who want to do this, alas.

The gourds had their time during the two months of Fall/Halloween. Now the two months of Christmas have begun and the gourds must return to the earth.

One of the homes last night had an array of items to choose from that included some potatoes. I asked if anyone had chosen the potatoes and they said no (I might have but my son went with the candy).

It is a cautionary tale but Fitzgerald definitely intended to make Gatsby and his partying lifestyle (which Fitzgerald partook in a lot in his life) look cool too.

My son went as the Grim Reaper with a scythe tonight. He’d tell the houses that gave him candy that he would spare them for their generosity.

The problem is the same one that comes up whenever people complain that Trump or other leaders of this age are dumb: if they are then why are they in such high positions of power/influence? Maybe the words “dumb” and “smart” don’t mean much anymore.

Technically they only had one sizable Billboard hit. But I still hear several of their other songs randomly playing in public places so they are weirdly enduring.

If people in your neighborhood area know where you live, I expect word could get out that you’ve got the good stuff.
