They’re over proofed!!!!
In my best Paul Hollywood voice.
My poor lussebullar. Ah, well. They taste REALLY good.
Had a work call interrupt me for far too long. Oops. There’s more dough in the fridge and I’ll try for some prettier ones tomorrow.

Made some sufganiyot today! Not the prettiest things in the world but tasty! I made the jam inside! They look a disaster but it won’t stop me from eating the whole plate!

I’ve been working on learning my grandmother and great-grandmother’s recipes. Many of my great grandmothers cookbooks use these measurements. So this is really special!
I present, the most well traveled measuring cups in the world!

Weekend at the Common Ground Fair in Maine. Volunteered yesterday and have a shift for tomorrow. Today was my free day so I wandered around, went to a chicken first aid talk, and angora rabbit grooming demo, helped with a community felting project, and went to a solar cooking demo. Always fun.

This just came in the mail mail! By @mcflycahill90.bsky.social
@dartbeef.bsky.social shared a comment that he made announcing it’s publication, and I love to support writers and artists of all types! The cover immediately captured my attention, and I can’t wait to get started!

Sorry about my filthy hands! I’ve been planting ginseng. Planted two mulberry trees today too! My hazelnuts are leafing out, as are my blueberries. And look at my baby ramp patch! :)

Had to come to Boston for a work event in the morning. The view from my hotel room is quite nice, and I got a quick break from set up earlier to walk around Copley Square and enjoy the sunshine a bit.

Good night to be a frog in Maine! And to be a human who loves frogs and newts! Did some data recording for Maine Big Night. In 1/2 hour we saw (and helped cross the road)

24 peppers
4 live red efts
1 dead red eft
1 great tree frog
1 pickerel frog
And heard a barred owl!

My little Maine garden, or pieces of it. Buds on one of my linden trees, bloodroot starting to blossom, lady’s mantle doing pretty stuff, and my little patch of ramps is starting to come up!!!

Also, American Ginseng seedlings are almost ready to go out. I’ll let them get a little bigger and we have a few weeks before last frost. I got the seeds so cheap because they’d started sprouting and needed to be planted immediately.

It’s very fibrous so maybe! I’ve been teaching myself rope making. Great for that!

Lemon balm, rhubarb, and nettles coming up in my garden. Peas planted. Prepping the veggie garden more this weekend. Spring is springing slowly but surely. 🌱🌱🌱 Early spring in Maine.

Organized my seeds yesterday. I’ve decided to take all the old/questionable ones and make a chaos garden out back!

A little cross stitch I made for my niece. First one I’ve ever done. Keeps my mind busy while my shoulder heals. Can’t do much else of importance. Slow and painful healing from this surgery. Spring is finally coming and the ice is gone, so I can go outside without being worried about falling.

Lovely sunset today. Brutal cold and quite windy. But worth stepping out and catching a picture!
