I hate setting up new social profiles — but not as much as I hate Elon Musk ✌️

Been a democratic socialist since long before it was cool. Pro-reading comprehension.
I talked to a more than a few people at my local #NoKings rally today. Interestingly, all of us in this sample population were there because we love America.

Y’all — I think the the GOP might be lying 🙃

After reading the statement by #disney, regarding the return of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, I will reiterate my initial reaction to their whole mess: Fuck Disney.

This was not a decision “to avoid further inflaming a tense situation…” — it was a bow to fascism. Call it what it was and own it.

Dear #Disney,

I don’t miss #Target, and I won’t miss you.

Sincerely,

A suburban mom who fits neatly into your target demographic

Per People, Jimmy Kimmel has been offered the chance to go back in the air, if he complies with a list of demands, including paying off Charlie Kirk’s family.

Fucking disgusting.

Ironic that the same company that brought us “The Handmaid’s Tale” would capitulate to a fascist regime, but here we are.

Fuck ABC.

The people in America that I’m most afraid of are the white men who proclaim themselves to be Christian.

One of the most important people in my world has pancreatic cancer — mRNA vaccines are brilliant source of light in an otherwise incredibly bleak landscape.

Fund 👏 mRNA 👏 Research 👏
Are the mRNA vaccines incredible? YES!

Are the mRNA vaccines perfect? No.

Have the mRNA vaccines saved millions of lives? YES!

Can we make the mRNA vaccines even better? YES!

Can we use mRNA vaccine technology to prevent and treat many other diseases? YES!

Fund mRNA research!

Markwayne Mullin: "I'm not joking when I say this. I drive around Washington DC in my Jeep - yes, I drive myself - & I don't buckle up. The reason I don't buckle up - people can say whatever they want - is because of carjacking. I don't want to be stuck in my vehicle when I need to exit in a hurry."

There’s a delicious irony to CBS/Paramount firing Colbert in that now even more people are talking about their bribery scheme than if they’d just let the remark go.

… but to be fair, we are living in a world where kindness is considered fanatical leftism…
Ah, yes, PBS, that bastion of leftwing propaganda known for...

*checks notes*

...Sesame Street, Mister Rogers, and Ken Burns' Baseball.

Hot tip to @nytimes.com — if you have to keep your source anonymous because naming them would take away any amount of credibility, that’s a good sign you shouldn’t use that source.

Here’s the thing: I don’t mind paying taxes when I know the it’s helping my fellow citizens meet their basic needs. The idea that my hard-earned money is giving billionaires even more money that they can never spend in their lifetime, though, is nauseating.

Fuck the BBB.

I don’t believe in having heroes (even though my kiddos and I love reading about them #PercyJackson) because that’s not a fair burden to put on someone — but gosh darn it, Rick Riordan is a good human. We need more of those.

Maybe my definition of “liberation” is off, but I didn’t think it included wresting control from democratically elected officials…
This is the most straightforward thing they've said so far. They're using the military to "liberate" Los Angeles from its mayor and governor.
Kristi Noem: "We are not going away. We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city."

Sen. Alex Padilla is then forcibly removed!

OMG, y’all — stop pretending that JD Vance is stuck in the middle of a custody battle between Trump and Musk.

Everyone knows Peter Thiel has custody.
June 6, 2025 at 2:43 AM
Theory: Trump and Musk are publicly fighting because the person who owns them both doesn’t want us to pay attention to the fact that he just launched missiles and drones at Ukraine.

Look. All I want is for the American media to report on the U.S. government the same way they would report on a foreign government. It’s not that hard.

For all the people speculating about Joe Biden’s health who don’t know the whiplash of “healthy” to “life-threateningly ill” that comes with a cancer diagnosis,” I’m actually truly happy for you because it means you’ve never experienced it.

For everyone who does understand: Hugs.

Oh, good — the internet-forum-educated virologists, epidemiologists, economists and international shipping experts have expanded their practice into urologic oncology now, too.

Dunning Kruger at its finest.

I was just having a similar conversation with a friend after the Canadian election.
Starting to wonder if we took one for global civic democracy. Electing Trump basically seems to have knee-capped every revanchist far-right candidate in the world. You're welcome, world.
May 19, 2025 at 12:58 AM
Fuck Trump.
May 17, 2025 at 3:59 AM
Google tells me Joe Biden was born in 1942, and is therefore an octogenarian, which makes him “old.”

I am now as good a reporter as Jake Tapper.

Trojans: "Now there are those that saw we shouldn't be accepting gifts of horses to Troy. And I would say, only a stupid person would say that. Why wouldn't I do that?”
Trump: "Now there are those that saw we shouldn't be accepting gifts to the Defense Department. And I would say, only a stupid person would say that. Why wouldn't I do that?" (The Constitution prohibits it without congressional approval!)

I tell my kids all the time, history SHOULD make them uncomfortable — humans have done a lot of fucked up shit that we need to learn from to make the world better.

Pretending it doesn’t exist doesn’t change the fact that it happened.
Good Night World
