The Hawley-Smoot Tariff Act aimed to protect industry by raising tariffs on imports. But it provoked retaliatory tariffs from other countries, reducing international trade and worsening the Great Depression instead of alleviating it. This act ultimately harmed the economy in the USA and globally.

I was at a retreat this weekend and was completely spoiled by Chef Erin at Elevated Soul Cooking. She knows her vegan food (and every other kind of food too!) She made me a vegan version of omelettes, chicken and waffles, enchiladas, and more. Delicious!😋
