Today’s reminder: #Diversity, #equity, & #inclusion are NOT illegal; they make education stronger & better for ALL our kids. Last month, a federal judge determined that the Trump administration can’t withhold funds & require attestations regarding “illegal DEI.” We at @all4ed.org applaud this!

I spent 10 days with a bunch of teens on a river with no internet, and I also just dropped off my one and only kid at college. I’m having a lot of big feels.
My headline? The kids are alright. They’re more than that - they’re awesome, and they give me so much heart and hope.

The Trump administration is further dismantling the U.S. Dpt of Ed by sending the funding and activities of the office I formerly led, OCTAE, over to the Dpt Of Labor. Yesterday I attended a rally in support of our trans kids and community - Sec McMahon was at what was supposed to be a Title IX event (yay Title IX!), but it was really an anti-trans event, kicking off an anti-trans bus ride across NM (during Pride Month). We stand with ALL our kids in our schools!

When our schools - and our graduation ceremonies - become places of fear, we’ve crossed a line. We need to protect, support, and celebrate all of our students, and we at @all4ed.org stand with LAUSD in calling for a safe space for graduation, free of immigration raids and threats.

Grateful for the lawsuits filed today against the Executive Order to dismantle Dept of Ed. Let’s remember that the problems that our Ed system faces will NOT be solved by this EO: funding and teaching/learning are already in the hands of states & locals. This EO will only make things worse. #edusky
