Mine look like this! And I have a chronological side and a side with shelves organized by theme, too. And stacks pulled out in front and laid sideways for writing projects and course planning.

It’s a rufous hornbill collected in the Philippines by the US army surgeon who anchors the book. This bird is currently in the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History’s Division of Birds.

And to learn, I’d go to local yarn store and flip through a few beginner books—find one that makes sense to you! And then supplement with YouTube. And I love The Knitter’s Companion as an easy reference book for new to-me techniques!
