I deal with this in my Little Free Library. An AI book from 2013, business texts from the 1980s, paperbacks taped together. People don’t want to throw away old books. Which leaves me to recycle them.

I’m going to lose any battle with a vehicle, so I do think the “extra precautions” reminders are important for us cyclists and pedestrians. *And* we can educate drivers! Both will help.

This has happened to me at Wells Fargo at Grand and Fairview and at Walgreen’s at Snelling and Randolph. Reason cited? Safety.

My son works at Groveland Elementary. They call them “lockdown drills” there, but yes: It’s this generation’s version of duck & cover.
