Found this interesting midge and I’ve been trying to identify it but can’t put my finger on what species it is! I think it’s definitely a male non-biting midge, possibly Chironomus plumosus? First few bee flies of the year, I believe this is Bombylius major! I went all of last year not seeing a single one, but in the last 10 mins I’ve seen 5!! Definitely up there with one of the best Diptera 🤩🙌🏻 @flygirlnhm.bsky.social
