So nice to have @noellecook.com's book out in the world! It's a helpful contribution to understanding white women's involvement not just in Jan 6th but also in radicalization more broadly. I was lucky to see this project as it was first coalescing, and I'm excited for other people to see it now, too

It's always nice when a physical book copy hits your hands, especially when your work is alongside so many great scholars' contributions.

These are law enforcement personnel who have been reallocated to ICE activities. Check out that first line. It's the reason I've been telling journalists that we're not going to fully realize what we've done to ourselves until there is some awful, *preventable* tragedy.

Honesty, I don't care about the Cracker Barrel thing. As a kid, I never saw a point eating at a place that made meals that looked like every single one at my house. But this guy is now doing circles ina TN roundabout, and what on earth have y'all done?!

Perhaps because they don't want to believe what's happening, perhaps because they're afraid of professional backlash when some of these institutions have been around a long time and have a huge reputation and budget. I don't know.

But as for me and my house, fuck this:

This is what happens when your pretend a Nazi salute is not a Nazi salute. And I'm not being glib.

Extremism and identity based exclusion rely on purity tests with ever shifting boundaries.

Feminized and devalued. It's "easy" women's work, labor not worth compensating, as exemplified in this post. Also, check out @matthewdtaylor.bsky.social 's work (for starters) on how women intersect with evangelical notions of gendered power

Just in case you've ever wondered what it's like to be a woman with even a tiny public presence. The article in question appears to be this one

My Senegal parrot, Jude, still hates geese because of how this one would leave the lake and peck on the door at the apartment we lived in nearly 20 years ago now.

I took this picture when Jude decided he'd had enough and attempted to square off through the glass.

Spent quite a bit of time in a conversation after a talk last week unpacking how nostalgic group members can idealize the 1950s and simply say, "oh yeah, except that part," when reminded of the racism and other exclusion synonymous with that era.

Gonna just reference this from now on instead
