The artist provides the genesis, and the audience mind processes the revelation. An audience perspective can't "outrank" the intentions of the artist because their respective loci do not overlap.

Dracula summons packs of wolves (wild) to maul people; Arthur summons dogs (trained) to protect people. Every character in the vampire hunting party is a foil to Dracula in some way.

Even "excommunication" merely makes you a "bad" Catholic. It is a great annoyance to me that in spite of some breathtaking effort, I'll never apostasize hard enough to get them to sign the divorce papers.
