I don’t remember the last time I opened a product, saw it had changed, and thought to myself- I can’t wait to see how it’s improved.

If founders reach a point where they have to grow to satisfy investors instead of serving users, I’d prefer they kill the company rather than break faith and trust.

One thing I keep thinking about as we lose Tiktok is that it's not the app that taught us so much - it's the people we connected with through it.

I'm committing to building that connection in my real life. Especially going into this next administration, we'll need all the community we can get.

People are expressing so much authentic grief and gratitude as they lose access to Tiktok - and each other. This team built something millions of people want. It's impossible for me to imagine this volume of genuine emotion coming from the loss of any other product.

Power that relies on an external source for its strength isn't true power. It's control, domination, subversion, or oppression pretending to be something else.

Founders with no sense of self externalize decisions that should be an inside job - they don't have the confidence to trust themselves and don't realize there isn't a "right" answer. This has traditionally looked like an overreliance on advisors and investors. Today's equivalent is ChatGPT.

Founders I work with: "I can’t go at this pace all the way until [pivotal date]. But I need to. But I can’t."

And then they do.

Continuous theme of my work with founders: 1/ What do you know? 2/ What would you like to do with what you know?
