Sifting thru 200 years of family items. It's exhausting, interesting and sometimes extremely contradictory. Today I found a photo of my great grandfather getting a medal in WWII, and then a Confederate plate from about 1910.

Trying to remember this country has always needed a lot of work. I got the journal of my great, great, great grandfather. Written in the 1830s, he journaled His sadness at the tragic murder by a mob of an abolitionist.
