EGFR mutations are the most common actionable mutations in lung cancer, found in ~15% of cases.

On average, people with EGFR lung cancer are:
- Younger at diagnosis.
- More likely to be women.
- More likely to have Asian Ancestry.
- Less likely to have a history of heavy tobacco use. +

In November 2023, the (FDA) approved repotrectinib (Augtyro) for the treatment of some advanced lung cancers that have a genetic change called a ROS1 gene fusion.

The complete results of the clinical trial that led to the approval have been published.
