Why do you think it can't be both? Tax incentives are crucial, and a major reason that so much production has moved to other states. I'm a huge proponent of collective bargaining, but let's not pretend tax incentives aren't critical for this industry.

That's an actively obtuse read, where perfect is the enemy of good. Not a movie I want to watch either, but if it's a movie shoot that brings a lot of true money into the middle class economy (that has been suffering in L.A.) of below the line workers, I'm all for it.

The subsidies help below the line workers, and all of the businesses that serve the industry, including a prop house, like the one I own. Real trickle down happens when money is spent on the working and middle class people of the city, and that lifts all the creative tides.
