I’ve started to collect more physical media. While I sometimes buy individual DVDs, once in awhile I get a used box from shopgoodwill. I keep some and put the rest in our neighborhood lending library. Here’s some of my latest haul.

Found this signed Smothers Brothers poster at Goodwill. The irreverent ‘60s entertainers famously battled political censorship - and were ultimately fired by CBS. Had it reframed at the amazing Vintage Framing Studio in Austin. vintageframingstudio.com

Starting to snow in Austin.
Snow is good because if you lose power and water for days on end — like when the Texas grid failed in 2021 — you can melt it on the grill to flush your toilets. Ah. Good times.

NYE dinner: 70s era electric fondue pot doing the heavy lifting on the beef tenderloin and marinated chicken breast. Dipping sauces: horseradish sauce, champagne honey mustard, teriyaki apricot sauce and Worcestershire.
I’m usually frugal but found a way to splurge going into the new year.

I got a blanket at an online thrift store. When it came, it was thicker than I wanted. I was going to re-donate it, but Gordo said “nope.” Meanwhile, Gus enjoys stealing anyone’s chair. #caturday

Finally found some nice used Klipsch speakers for my old school audio setup ($61 untested on shopgoodwill). Also got the CD player there for $9.99. It was still factory sealed - probably from the ‘90s.
