From day one, I’ve believed in Dr. Dorcey Applyrs and her vision for a city that truly serves its people. Her election as Mayor marks the beginning of a new chapter…one defined by collaboration, accountability, and a shared commitment to making Albany stronger for *everyone* who calls it home.

THOUSANDS of us were out today on Western Ave standing in unity against Trump’s fascist regime for No Kings 2.0 - I was in awe of the thousands of people around me and invigorated to be a small part of it.

Together we are stronger, more organized, and *united* we can move forward and through this.

I stand with @newyorkstateag.bsky.social This indictment is ridiculous - AG James has been an incredible advocate, a leader for NY, and a fighter for all - for these reasons she is being targeted and for these reasons I’ve got her back.

Today I was proud to present $30,000 in my discretionary state funding to the Underground Railroad Education Center to support their Museum Studies Teen Program.

There needs to be an opportunity for NYS to fight back when government actors are out of line.

I just introduced A.9076/S.8500 with Senator Myrie - a bill that gives New Yorkers the power to hold government officials accountable in our own state courts when they violate our constitutional rights.

Big news for Frank Chapman Mem. Inst. Inc 95! 🎉

Speaker Heastie joined me for a tour, where he gave a $1.25M investment for Chapman Inst. & Hood's House of Hoops! 🙏🏼

This investment will have ripple effects for the whole West Hill neighborhood, and I'm so excited for the City of Albany residents!

Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system and have long been at the forefront of advocating for meaningful change in the workplace. Congratulations to the nurses who fought tirelessly for safer working conditions and to @nynurses.bsky.social for their unwavering advocacy!

Today I joined colleagues from NY, MA, and PA to support the MELT Act, led by @patriciafahy46.bsky.social & @tonysimone.bsky.social. The bill bans ICE an federal agents from hiding their identities, promoting safety and transparency for vulnerable communities. I am committed to safety for all.

The Summer Food Service Program offers free meals to kids and teens 18 and under at schools and community sites around Albany! 🥪🍎

Most locations do not require sign-up; however, check before attending a location. Take a look at the options we’ve found for this incredible program!

Ten years ago, SCOTUS ruled for marriage equality in Obergefell v. Hodges, a victory built on generations of LGBTQIA+ courage and pride. But the fight isn’t over. Our most vulnerable communities still face growing threats. I’ll keep fighting for dignity, safety, and love for all. 🏳️‍🌈🤍

I was so proud to stand with my colleagues in the NYS Assembly to protect due process in this year’s budget. We fought to preserve the heart of the 2020 discovery reforms because access to evidence isn’t a technicality; it’s a constitutional right.

It's #InternationalWorkersDay - aka May Day - and it's been a whirlwind of labor rallies today. My parents were proud union members, and I'll always be labor's proud partner in government.

Visas have been revoked for 7 students at Capital Region schools recently without explanation or justification. As your Assemblymember, I won’t stand for this.

@patriciafahy46.bsky.social , @johnmcdonald108.bsky.social and I demand an end to these violations of constitutional rights & due process.

I’ve seen firsthand how transparency in the criminal legal process strengthens our communities and increases integrity in the courtroom.

As a former public defender and now Assemblymember, I’m using my trial experience and voice to push back on the false narratives about New York’s discovery law.
Opinion: Discovery reform works. Don’t let prosecutors gut it.
The supposed “crisis” surrounding discovery is a uniquely downstate issue, and it is extremely reckless to alter the law for the entire state simply because certain prosecutors say they are struggling...

Donald Trump’s tariff plan will drive up energy costs, adding to working families' already skyrocketing bills. As we all grapple with the chaos in Washington, I won't stop working to lower costs, from investing in affordable green energy to passing measures to lower utility bills.
