Painting at sea… #OceanX

2 days at sea down, 18 to go. (On the OceanXplorer transiting from Walvis Bay to Mindelo.)

I’m spending the next two days at Space Camp, which is something I never thought I’d do. Best part… seeing some friends (now fellow campers) that I haven’t seen in years.

Teenage me adored the tv show SeaQuestDSV. This past year with OceanX has, at times, felt like living in that show (minus the drama, mutiny, and aliens.)

In 2004, I collaborated with Steve Roden on “ear(th).” (Art installation with robots and xylophones and earth quake data.) Steve passed away last year, so didn’t get to see ear(th) revived this year for the PST exhibition. His wife sent me this sketch from 20+ years ago and today I got it framed.
