Now take quantum sims & make them accessible— NLP that anyone can play with. Two turntables & a pocket of qubits? Also, thinking @ curation, a lá @lillianyvonne.bsky.social. Not merely machine generation, but working in relationship w/ computation to *see*, or maybe feel, differently. Entangling.

Our first example follows mimicking Markov chains and blackout poetry refracted thru quantum processing. Thinking about entanglement, the introduction of dynamism — the power of context-driven generation — to remix hip-hop, meaning music and poetry.

Apparently I am live-skying my heart.

Now we are bathed in Patricia Hill Collins’ deep intelligence, pointing us toward thinking @ AI & social relations. It feels good to be brought to attention by a person of such immense capacity to focus us in witness of her critical gaze.

Today? Advising projs, teaching my Black Digitalities grad course, & sitting @ this talk by @safiyanoble.bsky.social (How’s that for burying the lede?🌟) Moving constantly btw headlines & actually getting my job done. It’s a devilish both/and. Talks like this remind us why we must also do what we do

In this conversation with @umd-arhu.bsky.social, Jayson Porter, Hackett reminds us of Édouard Glissant, a Caribbean philosopher’s idea of opacity— the right to not always taking responsibility for translating cultural knowledge. Much at stake in thinking about where we locate archival material.
