I'm trying to find small actions that will help me stave off the overwhelming anxiety that's starting to take control, and I've landed on writing postcards to my friends and their kids. I just think if I were a teen right now, I'd be even more anxious, and it's nice to know someone cares.

Freshco labeled all their American produce in yellow; I love it.

Is anyone else overwhelmed by trying to buy Canadian? I want to, and I also have a particular eater who has very specific safe foods, and I don’t want to restrict her even further.

I think countries around the world should levy tariffs specifically on Tesla in response to US tariffs, as well as banning Twitter as a national security threat

OpenAI says it has proof that Deepseek used its work without permission to create something meant to undermine and destroy its product.

On behalf of all the authors whose novels and stories were taken as training data, oh no that must be so hard for you.

I don’t put the laundry away because if I leave it in the hall, it becomes sentient.

I’m trying to sink into my hobbies and non-internet activities to avoid the general dread, and my kid has decided to get into cosplay, so I’m teaching them to sew. They’re so happy with their progress and it’s adorable!

I have a little plea and it's this: please keep posting about things that aren't The Horrors. I am not saying to not look at or be informed about The Horrors. What I am saying—what I am genuinely kind of begging you to do—is keep posting about books and movies and sunsets and pets and joy. Please.

I’ve been back from Cuba for a week and I am struggling with winter waaaay more than I usually do in January. But it’s also possibly because of everything else - who’s to say?

The clash of old and new: my bank app can't deposit our Christmas cheque from the grandparents because it's made out in cursive.

I finished my audiobook on my walk today and it included a bonus podcast episode. I do not want this. I listen to podcasts separately from books. Stay in your appropriate venues. Bah.

The wind knocked out our power for over four hours yesterday and my kids struggled. I think we need to do a little disaster preparedness training… I didn’t want to shove “it’s worse elsewhere” in their faces, but I was definitely thinking it.

I am fruitlessly anxious about so many things right now. But I went for my weekly walk with my friend and her dog Casey, and Casey was so excited to see me that she did tippy-tappies, and it helped a little.

I told myself I could play the new Zelda when I got to my query goal for the week, but it took hours and now the youths will be home and clamouring for the Switch in half an hour. Woe.
