i dunno, you can use AI to make a react app or an atproto app, but i'm skeptical you can use it to make react or atproto yet– systems engineering is safe for the time being imo

the abstractions we build on top of typing on a keyboard and painting are useful; the abstractions we build on top of string concatenation serve to add confusion and make people worse at AI, especially since there is a lot of prior art on string manipulation going unused

so deciding whether to not concatenate the strings, or to concatenate the string and deciding how to store strings that you plan to concatenate again?

"system prompts" and "tool calls" are also string concatenation under the hood (and using them often makes performance worse vs assistant prefill)

describe some specific activities that you consider 'context engineering'

an agent pursues a goal on behalf of a principal, these are LLM programs misusing borrowed terms from computer science and economics literature for hype

it's like how it's called "context engineering" instead of "string concatenation"

This has been a good community to be in to help figuring this out. Faebot goes to school there, tho fae's taking a little break right now (it's summer after all)

updated the application questions for emergent ems to be a bit simpler, clearer, and easier to answer

No, unfortunately not. There might be other scenes where you'll be able to interact with the ems, but that's up to the shepherd of each em.

Instead of configuring each model individually, you configure providers which serve models or provide hardware, and chukei figures out which provider to use to serve which model.

The ultimate goal of chukei is to promote competition, and to unchain individuals from the tyranny of only having one chat subscription or billing configuration set up– to make switching models as convenient as changing a string

Also, it's written in TypeScript on the Deno runtime this time, instead of Dlang

thank you @oof.dere.systems and @nemoia.ai for execution and design, respectively :)
