Thanks, Stephen. This was on a city street.. not sure of the closest tree, but shall check. They were so vivid.. and there were a few small patches. A person who lived there said they come up every year : )

a LARGE prolific bloomer!! Can reach 5-6 ft. and LOADED with flowers. Pollinators feast...
