Really cool idea! Is it possible to explain how it is calculated, or would that lead to abuse? Is there a chance of access to an API so that the community could make hero specific leaderboards?

12 days since u posted this, but I'm a slow cooker with my thoughts. You are doing an amazing job, and I do not think you hear this enough.

Even with an amazing matchmaker people will blame it for bad matches. I was one of them, but you have gotten me to think about things differently, thank you.

The stats you guys shared do not show map specifics, but I'd be curious to see if new maps in general are less popular with lower ranks. I understand your point though. I remember ow1 Bastion, he might have been bad in gm but he terrorized my gold games.

Now we wait and see. If their learning and discovery theory holds true, we should see lower ranks start to vote for more Push and Flashpoint maps because that is what the 'good' players do.

Now I'm imagining a marketplace where you could spend time currency to buy the kind of match you wanted. Spend 200 time currency to be matched only against other solo queues, another 300 time currency to have everyone within 2 ranks. Currently there is a sale on uphill battles, -50% off all costs!

Do I understand the problem correctly? The real problem is player consistency and how frustrating those 1 out of 10 games are. The 'fun' is what matters for a players 'match making' perception? Even a fair match doesn't feel good if it is not fun.

Do you think competitive matchmaking suffers more from player perception than actual flaws? While player perception may not always align with reality, I think it still matters, and that impacts how people experience matchmaking even if the system is technically fair?

ok that sounds really cool, what data is this tech using, is it pulling role data from 5v5, or does it track our performance on each role in 6v6 and averages them. My brain is nerding over the possibilities. I've always found the idea of a system that learns to make better matches fascinating.

Post winrates for heroes pre-map/hero bans and how they have changed after. No one can stop you here, bring the drama!
