Im really sorry about this. I hope you can do what you need to do to take care of yourself, even if that means turning off the world.

It’s okay, guys. Baldies are hotties. Sometimes hair goes away, and people still look great. 👍

Definitely a compliment

Praying for you, Taylor, that God will protect and heal.

It’s not lost on me that it is a woman standing up to this gaggle of creepy men.

What on earth is happening here?

This is a heartbreaking story.

I would be concerned if my child were being cared for by this person. No shade on their personal beliefs, but a concern over demonic presence may distract from being a calm, loving presence to a kid.

Yup. That’s why I’m looking awesome in a bun every day these days. I don’t have time to deal with the new whims of my hair.

This is a very depressing post.

This is what happened to me and I hate it!

What about middle aged pregnant women? Can they get health care? It’s so hard to know who is worthy…

Well, and don’t leave us hanging - what are they saying?

I think there needs to be a reliable messenger from within the community that can speak in faith about the integrity of vaccines. I know there is a network of Mennonite healthcare providers (including some that work in more closed/traditional circles). They might be a good part of the conversation.

I am not in the Texas community, but from my view, I doubt pacifism would be persuasive. I understood that the concerns were mostly about the integrity of vaccines, worrying that vaccines introduce harmful toxins - so in that vein, abstaining from vaccines is consistent with upholding human life.

Hi! Mennonite here. My kids are fully vaccinated, as I am. Just confirming your writing that there is no vaccine opposition dictated by Mennonite religious teaching/practice, but some Mennonite groups or individuals may be influenced by broader anti-vaccine sentiment.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have really been thinking about this in real earnestness.

I’m so very sorry, Taylor. I’d love to hear your reflections on whether there is a way to have the people you know change their views. I come from a faith community where there was a lot of support, and wonder how to break through. I read the Qanon book you recommended. Looking for other ideas.

We come and we go… I’ve been listening to this with my 4 year old on his way to school in the morning. He’s a fan!

This is not the important part, but I can’t help but wonder - has he taken a bathroom break?
