The real effort we have to start making is connecting with our local communities and supporting activism that makes a difference where we are. Apathy is not enough: there is no compassion (or justice) without action.

Democracy requires attention. Ignorance is no excuse.

The wealthy who now run this country exist on unrealized capital gains; i.e. the "invisible" wealth of their holdings. If you stop consuming, their wealth evaporates.
