The adoption of this law in France is a historic step forward. It is a long-awaited victory for victims of rape and the culmination of years of tireless campaigning by activists, feminist organizations and survivors of sexual violence.

UNnatural disasters caused by fossil fuels put our human rights at risk. People around the world, often those who have contributed least to climate change, are being killed or losing their homes to hurricanes, fires and floods.

This is a human rights issue, and an export control trade issue - at the heart of it though is the prevention of torture - more action is needed from states to end the trade in tools of torture.
