An open letter to the United Nations Human
Rights Council is demanding accountability for the human rights violations committed in Afghanistan.

Today marks four years since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan.

Amnesty International has documented how Afghanistan’s legal framework has been entirely dismantled and replaced with a religiously grounded system shaped by the Taliban’s strict interpretation of Islamic Sharia law.
