Thank you. I’ve always got shortlisted before now but this past couple of months trying to secure something for January, not even that. I might drop you a message if that’s ok.

He looked dreadful this series! And started to irritate me too. Possibly the two are connected.

Of course it does! And when you’re not prepared for it, it can really sting. Plus the comments you’ve had today must make you feel quite forgotten about. It’s just rubbish.

It’s rough, and people can be so insensitive and thoughtless. Scan pictures appearing without warning on social media or in group WhatsApps used to really send me spiralling. It’s the moments you’re not prepared for that are really tough. I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this.

I have a feeling I have the tragedy ones. I’ll dig them out for you over the weekend if you want to send me your email address.

That targeted precisely the cohorts that would have picked English for A Level 10 years ago. So many of these students really believed that STEM was the best for their life chances and so that was the path they were choosing. We need to be competitive alongside that narrative. Somehow.

This is a huge factor in my experience. I coveted a form having an assembly once which was on STEM and it made me realise how strong the narrative on the brilliance of this area was in my school. There was a TLR for leading on it which meant regular assemblies, clubs launching rockets, trips…

I exam marked this year and I found the pressure to meet quotas really at odds with the need to take my time and apply the mark scheme properly. Or as properly as you can ever apply something so nebulous… I just couldn’t go fast enough. It’s a real issue.

I used to enjoy running along (by which I mean down. Never up) Bishops’ Avenue and ogling the houses along there.

Imagine being the person putting forward that suggestion. I bet it was someone who’d had to have breakfast with their headteacher the morning before their physics exam.

Oh my lord! That must have been such a weird situation for everyone. Did you have to have dinner with them?! 😂

This happened to one of my friends and I get this story out every year, but I’ve started to doubt that this really could have happened. I’m glad I didn’t imagine it. I’m sure he had an invigilator at his house.
