at the most basic level yes it does impact them! You go to the grocer, the drug store, the local restaurant - who is working there? HIGH SCHOOL KIDS. YOU NEED THEM TO BE WELL EDUCATED FOR YOU TO HAVE A WORKING SOCIETY.

the argument that “well I don’t have kids so it doesn’t impact me“ is so dumb for that exact reason. we have decided to live in a society! this is part of that decision! you make sacrifices for the good of others to have a BETTER society!
