While crumbs are negotiated for climate finance, producers of some of the dirtiest oil (🇨🇦🇺🇸) have expanded production, cancelling out any transition effects by others

Attended an event from one of the authors that inspired my undergraduate dissertation. Was a pleasure to listen to @amirleb.bsky.social speak about his new book.

Key takeaway: The Global North are self interested in the green race, and developing countries should find alternatives to survive.

Renewables financing is perpetuating global inequality.

Despite record investment globally & 600 million still without electricity in Africa, the region got < $1 of RE investment (100x less than rich nations‼️)

If nothing changes, the poorest will be pushed further behind in the green economy.
