Don’t you just *hate it* when you replace an OEM part with a pattern that should work, but doesn’t? # EVSE

I can’t see why the new relay isn’t working, but it wasn’t. I’ll apply 12V across the coil to figure it out.

Totally NOT an EE - but the TLDR is that I need to switch how I'm powering a drain of 7.2 W (max) 100μΑ (min). Always on circuit needs to disengage when the switched circuit goes live - and the switched circuit then needs to power the drain.

Am I on the right track? What component should I use?

When you order six meters of cable, but #DigiKey sends you six boxes. #whoops

In unrelated news, it appears all I need to do to get one of our two Emporia Vue 2s working is to order the parts I thought I needed to fix it.

It stopped working nearly 11 days ago, but suddenly started working again after I ordered the replacement parts. Oh well! #HomeAssistant

Tired: Every year I think I've beaten the vile #ItalianArum, and every year it comes back.

Wired: I have managed to grow 40 #Strawberry starts. I think there's still some more in the plot. Alas, I don't know the variety as I've forgotten.

#HMU if you're in the PNW and want some. #Gardening.

I think this is it, folks. Granted, I AM considering annealing these in the oven in some sand to improve their temperature and strength resistence, but... what do you think?

My final print of the weekend should be the final prototype.

This has been a fun learning experience, and I hope I can keep the vibe going. #diy #3dPrinting #EVs.

Today, I was a little... selfish.

I spent much of today modeling and making prototype battery covers for our Vectrix VX-1 battery upgrade. The covers will eventually be printed in high-temperature resistant materials, and prevent accidental cell shorting. #DIY #Maker

Much progress was made.

I never thought that I’d live in a time when this was considered an opulent breakfast.

But thanks to the idiot in chief, this really is. I’m lucky. I made the bread with locally-sourced ingredients and the egg was laid about ten meters away. #chickens #food homemade.

Trying to #save #money by not shopping this week for food. Eating what’s in the cupboards.

Used the last of our carrots and potatoes, plus a packet of vegetarian sausages, some herbs and spices, vegetarian gravy, tinned kidney beans and a handful of brown rice.

Hopefully it’ll last.

I FINALLY Got the #garlic into the ground, just as the #NWS warned of extreme cold for the #OR coast range.

This year, it was Elepahnt Garlic, Inchelium Red and St. Helens varieties. Sure, it was WAY later than I'd hoped, but it's in. and there's straw on top!...

The #Bordercollies had fun, too!

Hey! Where are my fellow #farm folks who are #rural, #liberal, #progressive and support social structures that lift everyone up?

I’m so tired of the “Rural Conservative” stereotype. I know I’m not the only one.

Don’t throw away your stuff when it breaks. Look to see if you can #fix it instead.

Thanks to under $20 of shipped parts, I replaced the broken LED on this LG TV with about a half day of work.

And an @ifixit.com guide.

December 28, 2024 at 7:59 PM
Welp. Guess I know why my #VentDragons are no-longer working: the circuit board has died from all that hot dragon breath...or is it battery acid?

LED setup with two wires going to the eyes of the dragons. Thinking of replacing with an ESP32 board capable of pulsing/flickering eyes.

I found this last weekend when tidying. It’s my first #ILR implanted loop recorder, something which failed to detect my #LongQT

I have a smaller one now. It’s still there, in my chest, but it’s dead. It also failed to diagnose me, but a stress test off meds did!

That used to be in me!

Just to make your life easier, here's a list of the Democrats who voted AGAINST protecting the trans children of service members in the military.

Just so, you know, they can be ran against and removed from office.

#USPOL No, @washingtonpost.com , this is the PERFECT time to stop reading.

This is the PERFECT time to support independent reporters who work outside of outlets whose soul purpose (yes, I used that spelling intentionally) is to earn money for their rich overlord.

You know why we unsubscribed.

I had previously written most of my sensors using the OLD #HomeAsistant #YAML syntax in one massive "sensor.yaml" file.

Now I've split it out using the new method, using a bunch of good old !include statements.

What was a single 600+ line Yaml file is now split into relevant sections! Woop!

And... part of that stability is working on things to improve my home. I've been #3DPrinting a test panel today for a new wall-mounted storage solution. (See it here: https://www.printables.com/model/152592-honeycomb-storage-wall) So far, so good!

I know this is *probably* a little silly for most, but I'm really pleased that I finally have all the integration working to properly display our charging stations and their respective statuses.

The only ones not listed here are our portable ones - of which we have... *counts* four.

And yes, we

It makes my blood want to boil that either #enelX or its buyer has decided that the best thing to do with unsupported, old hardware is to try and lock people out from using it.

Luckily, we have the skillz.
