Ami's role in this story is ultimately to push the other two girls to stop trying to yield to each other, be honest about their desires, and spare her and Minori the pain of the uncertainty, but in this episode she does a lot of yielding herself, albeit perhaps more strategically.

Thus far the fanart/fanfics I've seen mainly portray Ami as not already knowing she's bi, but I'm amused by how if you read this line in a dirty way it sounds like Ami actually has sapphic experience already. It feels like an unexpected twist for Minori to be the noob between the two of them.

I'm not so sure Minori is a neutral party in today's athletic showdown. She picks Ami's event out of the hat, after all; what are the odds? 50/50? Oh. Well, I think she rigged it. Remember: this way she gets to see more of Ami in a swimsuit--and it pays off more than she could ever have hoped!
