"Elsewhere in the podcast with Anton, Yarvin talked of the need to mobilise the base of the party – its ordinary supporters – in the service of the cause. Yarvin postulated this could be done with an app that supporters would download and take instructions from when opponents were identified." - X?

"Yarvin admires Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping for his pragmatic and market-oriented authoritarianism, and the city-state of Singapore as an example of a successful authoritarian regime. He sees the US as soft on crime, dominated by economic and democratic delusions."

"...democratic governments are inefficient and wasteful - should be replaced with sovereign joint-stock corps whose "shareholders" elect an executive with total power, but who must serve at their pleasure, unencumbered by liberal-democratic procedures, could rule efficiently much like a CEO-monarch.

I'm all for free speech and discussion of radical ideas - but this is a quiet coup with a charismatic leader figurehead being manipulated to cause as much distraction as possible to allow the real actions to materialize under everyone's nose.
January 26, 2025 at 2:06 PM
He has a who's who of tech bros who are adherents and allies in his quest for an American oligarchical monarchy much like the autocratic city-state of Singapore... Anti-university and anti free press - who he says are in cohoots pushing for ultra left policies

Read it and weep - the irony of a guy raised by ultra liberal parents in the best alternative schools and excelling in his field to have swung to the opposite extreme in political beliefs...

"He advocates an American 'monarch' dissolving elite academic institutions and media outlets within the first few months of their reign.[33]"

Sound familiar? It should, since this is the basis of how the first 100 days were defined in Project 2025
January 26, 2025 at 1:58 PM
Agreed - which is why I pointed out a charismatic leader who has total control of their party.

Trying to be bipartisan over your own best interests and instincts just foments failure
January 25, 2025 at 4:20 PM
Because of how rushed this is, and very poor choices of cabinet positions, much of the efforts will fail to stick, and infighting will render the next 18-24 months ineffectual. Trumpers will Trump in 2026, but a big blue wave will hit Congress and the following 2 years will be another waste of time.
January 25, 2025 at 2:51 PM
IMHO he's trying to implement the details of what is defined in Project 2025 as quickly as possible - even before the first 100 days defined in the document - so that he can just get down to grifting, golfing, gathering adulation at rallies and abdicating governing responsibilities...

Correction - money costs of handling increase the more levels it goes through. If money goes up to the top and then trickles down being distributed to the states and then local entities, leakage occurs for many reasons (corruption included). Reverse the flow and it's more likely the money won't leak
January 25, 2025 at 2:42 PM
Treated more fairly across the board. Each local district would have its own individual standard deduction based on the economics of the locality, ensuring fair treatment. Usury (sales) tax need would be minimized, doing away with a regressive tax hitting the poor harder, and revenues normalized
January 25, 2025 at 2:31 PM
Money increases the more levels it goes through. If tax rate thresholds were set according to cost of living at the local level, and percentages then allocated and sent up to state and federal agencies without the need for complex regulations, the cost savings would be great, and people would be...

Transform the IRS from a federally administrated workforce into a locally driven workforce.

There are multiple layers of tax administration - municipal, county, state and federal. Plus mini HOA districts. Money should only flow one direction and it doesn't at the moment. The cost of handling...

Bring back higher taxes on the rich, find legal ways to tax the loans taken using investment equity as collateral, impose foreign employment taxes on companies using overseas labor to save money and increase profits, stock trade transactional taxes, eliminate many loopholes in the tax code, and...

To return to the booming economy of the 1950s will require a harsh plan like the one Project 2025 has laid out. And an administration with the power and fealty of a charismatic leader like Trump but who is not there exclusively to grift the country. Radical tax law transformation is needed
January 25, 2025 at 2:17 PM
This has been happening since Reagan - and has been made very public showing how wages for the middle and working classes have stagnated while corporate profits and elite wages have soared. No coincidence that the seeding of SCOTUS with hardcore conservatives started happening around the same time
January 25, 2025 at 2:10 PM
And as you plainly see today, the oligarchy will march in lock-step behind these figurehead leaders and usher in a modern feudalism - the middle class will shrink and disappear, with those who manage to stay will gain modestly in wealth while the rest will be in sustainment mode never getting ahead
January 25, 2025 at 2:07 PM
And with the US falling into isolationism and fascism it would encourage the EU public to follow.

Putin couldn't have drawn up a better plan to break up global alliances and mutual defense agreements. Chinese leadership will be able to subjugate Taiwan without any threat of the US stepping in
January 25, 2025 at 2:02 PM
They're also counting on the very short memories of the people - we would get used to what had happened and those who historically voted GOP would continue regardless of the pain inflicted. State controlled media would repeat the lies of a better state of society just like in Hungary and DPRK
January 25, 2025 at 1:58 PM
The logic of doing such wide and deep sweeping changes was that once the midterms came these changes would already have had their effects and would be very difficult to reverse. Decades of seeding the SCOTUS with hand picked justices would ensure that no challenges would prevail
