Vance would hate living in Canada. When have two official languages to begin with.

In one (possibility two) municipalities in Greater Vancouver, whites are the minority and have been for decades. We don't care.

With generational homes, families buy fewer houses. Seems good to me.

Some apps still have geolocater options that I see people using. In IG chats you can see where people you chat with are, if they have that feature turned on.

I whole heartedly agree with you there.

Unfortunately, corruption runs rampid amongst those who lust for power.

We like non-MAGA Americans.

He told us our boycott of American products and travel was useless and doesn't affect the US at all. Meanwhile, golf resorts, hotels, spas, and wineries are offering us deals to come and distilleries are whining about the loss of sales.

He's a horrible ambassador.

It's naive to believe Putin can be removed from office. "Fair elections" is an oxymoron in Russia.

Legislation, in general, is written in vague terms. Courts then have to interpret and determine how to apply the law rather than writing clear legislation from the beginning.

IDK why it's done this way.

Controlling media and education is a fascist playbook move. Once control is established they're free to spread as much propaganda as they want.

Effective? Yes, if you're a fascist. It's a death sentence to democracy.

Control media and education and you can spread propaganda like wildfire.

Trump is trying to control both.

This is an abuse of the notwithstanding clause IMO. I don't believe it was intended to be used to overrule the Charter whenever legislators felt like doing so.

The SCC ruling will set precedent on how it can be used going forward. Let's hope they strike this down and stop this abuse.

How did PP get "a pass" when CBC points out his misinformation?

Or, are you saying that CBC is wrong about a separate program for TFW in agriculture already existing and/or the numbers PP quotes as new TFW to Canada not including extensions for people already here? If so, what are the facts?

Grad students are deferring their acceptance b/c their visas haven't been processed, even when given extensions on acceptance deadlines.

How does the govt know the visas they manage to process in time for students to accept their offers are "the best and brightest?"

This has become the standard business model - international students bring in the revenue to cover the majority of operating costs.

But are we truly getting the best and brightest out of those who manage to filter through immigrations backlog?

I disagree. A corporation being forced by the govt to do something doesn't set a legal precedent; it's just govt overreach. The arbiter doesn't have to consider the temporarry actions, but they do have to consider previous decisions.

Air Canada is a publicly traded company in both Canada and the US. I doubt they only have American shareholders.

I do agree that the govt has sided with Air Canada. Binding arbitration automatically puts flight attendants at a disadvantage.

You're comparing Canada's internment camp, which was made into a little town, to places like Aligator Alcatraz and Hitler's interment camps?

Yes, it was 100% racist and despicable but they weren't caged, subjected to light 24/7, and never allowed to go outside like detainees at Aligator Alcatraz.

Weird, coffee doesn't keep me up at all (which I thought was adhd). I wish it did. Pulling all nighters for school would be MUCH easier.

Nurses keep the ratio of patient to nurse reasonable through overtime but the health authority says there needs to be less overtime?

Unless this policy also includes minimum staffing levels for each ward, it could create more problems.

The clip with the article shows her making both comments in the headline.

It's risky for Dems to pushback on Trump because they have 2 imperfect choices of playing into one narrative or another.

She also said "there's crime everywhere" in response to pointing to statistics showing crime is down.
