If the US really cared about educating its people, don't you think the education system would be a lot less broken? I think our shitty college system is merely a symptom of our country's priority on maximising profit for corporations, rather than caring for its population's welfare.

Yeah, I read your entire thread. The thing is, I agree with you as far as college being a huge scam that teaches us stuff that we probably should have learned in regular K-12. It's just that knowing the US, they'd sooner spend that money elsewhere, instead of investing into K12 education.

If the govt doesn't value education, then abolishing college for the purpose of repurposing money spent on higher education will have no meaning. We'd just have poorly educated people with less opportunities to learn later on in life.

If they really cared about investing into education to begin with, I feel like we wouldn't have college that would put you into a lifetime debt. Instead, we'd probably be living it nice like Finland or Norway instead... Less about what college offers and more about how the govt values education.

I dunno what kinda nice school you went to, but my K-12 experience as far as education goes, was shit.😭 I got the basics of basics and not much else. I literally had to move to another country and study there to learn the Rwandan Genocide existed because those fucks back home didn't teach me SHIT.
