I'm a READER. Not here to sell you anything. I'll share what I find in books without spoilers. Book review, NOT book report. I'll put the title in front of you, then you can choose. Life is full of possibilities. So are books.
I totally get that a Fae Prince is unlikely to be named Joe. But sometimes the names get distracting. It's like a hard stop when I am reading. #booksky

I have done this. A good sign. #booksky

#TheBoyfriend is the 2nd #book I've read by #FreidaMcFadden. She has quite the knack for twisty-turney, didn't see that coming. Though I will admit, I wondered how stupid was the FMC at times. Blinded by... Easy read. Nice before picking up the next 600+ page monster in the TBR. #booksky

J.R. Ward author of #BlackDaggerBrotherhood is dipping her toe into #romantasy. #CrownofWar&Shadow is the first #book in the Kingdoms of the Compass series. It's planned to be a 4 book series. Expected February 2026. #ParanormalRomance #booksky

#GoneGirl. The rare #StandAlone book. The story didn't get interesting until about 40ish pages in. Then it got all twisty & turney. Interesting who done it. Then, after 500+ pages the ending was as flat as a pancake. Ran out of ink? This #book left me anxious and unfulfilled. IMHO, skip it. #booksky

#TheSevenRings had the happy, sappy, feel good ending just like you'd expect. But before you got there...

There was a lot of repeated dialog. Maybe I'm just getting old and curmudgeonly. This book should have been a quicker read. I just didn't devour it. 1st 2 were better. #booksky #FinishedTrilogy

If #Brimstone hadn't been #book 2, it would've fell to DNF. I kept going only for the love of #Quicksilver. The beginning felt so lackluster. I began to wonder if anything exciting was going to happen. Then the ending, wow. I sincerely hope the next book is... more deserving. #booksky #CallieHart

I have a new fantasy thanks to #Brimstone. A room made from #book stacks. A private refuge among the books.

Now that I think, it isn't a new fantasy. Just one with a different form. #booksky

#ReturnOfTheSpider takes a step back in time. And stays there until the end. No back & forth. It tells the story leading up to #AlongCameASpider. The 1st #AlexCross novel. The tale of #GarySonji. His story in this #book ends where Along Came a Spider begins. Read them all. #JamesPatterson #booksky

#ArcanaAcademy. 1st in a planned trilogy. #Magic by #tarot. Unique. At least to my experience. I liked this #book. Mostly. It could have been shorter. I say that a lot lately. I guess I need a break from thick books. 500+ in hardback. #EliseKova

Reading an enemy to lovers #book where the MMC is being a bit of an ass. I thought, I'd like to read a book where the FMC finally sees him as he is instead of how she hopes he will be. Quit trying to find redeeming qualities. Dump him. Then it occurred to me - I've read that book. #booksky #ACOTAR

I went looking for the next books in the series I follow. That used to be a much smaller search. Next thing I knew, I had a dozen #books with publish dates for next year. Is there an app for that? A newsletter? I want to be notified in advance - say, 4 weeks ahead of publication. #booksky

It took a 100 pages, or so, for me to finally get into #Gleam. Book 3 of 5. Almost lost me. I thought this might be another unfinished series. The #book should have been shorter. And the epilogue is practically just a retell of what you just read, from his POV. But ordered 4 from #library. #booksky

A consideration of the evolution of #books. I picked up #DeadUntilDark for a possible re-read. #Gleam is the 3rd book in a series. Published 20 years apart. What a staggering difference in size. I remember when more books were a few days, not a week, or more. Instead of 300 many are 600+. #booksky

#ThornsOfFrost book 2 of this 4 book #CompletedSeries. I like the characters and the story didn't feel like I just read it in another book. That happens a lot when you read 1 genre too much. The #library has a small stack waiting for me so book 3 may have to wait. Priority. #fatedlove #fae #booksky

#JamesPatterson seldom disappoints. #ThePicassoHeist is a fox chasing a weasle around a mulberry bush. A magic carpet ride. No guessing what will happen next. No problem keeping me engaged. Unlike a few recent #books. I wonder if there will be a next book? Definitely left the possibility. #booksky

I tossed another #book aside. 77 pages read in 3 days. I thought I liked the story. But I was putting it down & doing other things. I picked up a #JamesPatterson book & bam! 125 pages gone in 1 evening. That is the true testament of a good book. #Authors give me a reason to stay - quickly. #booksky

Want to sleep. Instead, I'm thinking about #TrueBlood. The #books. Not TV's vamporn (nothing wrong with vamporn.) Just not now. And #MidnightTexas. I want a story about a quirky little town where the residents are a little 'different.' Are there books I'm not aware of to fill this craving? #booksky

I needed a break from fantasy. It all gets too familiar. We don't need the same story retold. Over & over.
#ACaller'sGame was a twisty little surprise. And a #stand-alone book too. There aren't enough of those! J.D. Barker is good at twisty. I have frequently recommend his #4MK trilogy. #booksky

Book is hurting my logic. FMC has an 11 year old girl. The author has never had, or has forgotten, the dimensions of an 11 year old child. He describes the child as hugging her mother's leg. Toddler? My 11 GD hugs my waist. The FMC gets on her knees to speak eye-to-eye. 11 year old? Sure. #booksky

DNF. This is becoming a trend. I gave #ForTheWolf 100 pages, or so. It seemed like a book I should enjoy. But, if it ever gets engaging it's somewhere I never made it to. That makes me sad. I'm glad the #library has been bountiful. I have more potential reads next to my bed. #booksky #fairytale
